So last year I was introduced to a project that I had never heard about before, Gangstagrass. This project brings together two very different, but oddly compatible genres and creates a sound that I can only seem to describe as "gritty flow". I just may trademark that. Either way, it features a whole bunch of talented yet fairly unknown rap artists and puts them up against a folksy bluegrass backbeat. Similar to country-rap, but has a few extra ingredients to give it it's own unique flavor. Stir it up, let simmer for a few hours in the hot Tennessee sun, and you have yourself a heaping helping of Ganstagrass.
