So here's the flip side to the music I've been feeling today, the B-side track to my daily shuffle - Broken Bells. Broken bells is an indie rock band duo featuring famous music producer Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) and lead vocalist of Portland's own The Shins - James Mercer. The pair has been working on this project that manifested both of their creative dreams into something that neither of them could have done alone. Burton brings a great driving funk rhythm similar to those of his other projects with Gnarls Barkley or Gorillaz, while James adds his smooth haunting vocals, and together they have created a very cool blend of musical styles. Below are two of their hits off their self titled album, "The Ghost Inside" and "The High Road".
